What ever happenned to taking his chances in the premier league with two hands and scoring great goals etc.???

He has now become Scolari's golden boy who sucks crap. Why was Ballack (who was performing averagely) subbed against West Ham instead Deco? (who was playing below averagely!)

Deco has become slightly useless of late, aside from scoring a fantastic bicycle against Bolton (hoorah) his vision seems to be lacking, he is not fast enough, and cannot compete for 50-50's because of his size ...

The level of the Eredivise is going downhill, and fast. If you look at the performances of the Dutch teams in European comps (Champions League, UEFA Cup etc) the teams from Holland (Ajax, PSV etc) are doing very poorly. In my opinion the dutch and french leagues have always been close in quality. However that is changing. PSV came last in their group in the Champions League and never looked like doing anything better. Bordeaux, the team that came 3rd in that group, are not even the best team ...

In my humble opinion the Championship, purely from a competition point of view is the best league in the world. The league is SO close, one win and you can jump half way up the table, one loss and your in the relegation zone. In my opinion this league should be seen as the ideal for all leagues. The quality is obviously not comparible to that of the Premier league, La Liga, Serie A etc, but it surely is a rollercoster ride for the fans. A Charlton fan such as myself can testify this fact. This game, in my opinion would decide who would challenge for the title with Liverpool, and arguably become favourites to lift the cup at the end of the season. So, this was the most important game of the season by far in my opinion and one that would have been watched by Rafa in particular.

Analysis:

Match: Pretty poor to be honest. The start of the game was very cagey and tentitive, neither side willing to throw themselves forward in fear of being ...

Paul Ince, the tough disciplinarian and motivator has been linked to CAFC. This is just what we need, a person who can motivate the players who have NO confidence and are playing woefully. However the one issue is the cost, Ince at Blackburn was being paid 1.5million pounds a year, Cafc do not have this sort of money, especially when they are about to end their two year 10million pound parachute from the Premier Leauge.

Now, my question is, can Real Madrid 'promote' players from Real Madrid B for no fee, and are the clubs the same from a financial point of view? What would happen if Madrid B got promoted and Madrid got relegated (unrealistic i know), would the B team become the A team or would they stay the B team? And the last aspect of my question is, can the B team knock ...

I think that this idea has merit, a big club - lets say Real Madrid, helps a smaller club - Xerez - financially. Sort of like a partnership, the big club loses a minute amount of its plentiful money to help a smaller club become more succesfull, and small club is able to function at a more effective rate. The sponsorship would be mutually benificial. The big club could loan its players out to the small club to give them first team experiance and who knows, the better players from the small club ...

Young to Madrid, with a little bit of Lennon mixed in too...

Will this eventuate into anything or will it remain a pipe dream? And if it does happen, will it be good for either Madrid or the players. Only one of the English players to play for Madrid did well, even then he was far less effective than when he played for his former club (Beckham at Manchester United). Owen, Woodgate, MacMannaman all fell victim to the alure of the massive club that Madrid is. Will Young and Lennon fall victim to this?

Is Money The Real Enemy?

I fairly sure it's what the players will do for money that worries me. Being a Chelsea fan, I read the salaries and almost puke everytime. These guys earn enough to retire and live comfortably in about one month. Introducing salary caps will not necessarily solve the problem, because then we will see more and more endorsment deals popping up everywhere with players hoping to keep earning at the same levels, and what would be worse than seeing you're favourite goalkeeper in an add for heat pumps?

Keane has now been sacked and the eyes of the football world now turn to Paul Ince.

Firstly should Keane have been sacked? He was the man responsible for firstly, taking Sunderland into the Premier league two seasons ago. This is not uncommon as Sunderland are a team that are constantly in and out of the Premier League. However what he did was he kept them up. He was the man who not only made Sunderland survive but survive somewhat comfortably. What makes this impressive is the fact that Sunderland ...

What do you think of the introduction of "hawk eye", the technology used in Tennis and Cricket to make the question of whether the ball crossed the line or not a non-issue. Following on from this, the introduction of a contesting rule, where players can contest the calls of the officials, in the case of offsides or penalties?

In my opinion the wrong calls, and right calls add a sense of tension to the game. Many moments of legend came from 'poor' reffing decisions, look at Maradona's ...

The 39th game issue, where each Premier league team would be forced to play an extra game in an already crowded season half way around the world, just to bank in on the Premier Leagues popularity, in my opinion is an outrage. This blatent attempt to get more money out of football is doomed to fail.

Abramovic has the charm that only someone who has done well from living in Russia has. Abramovic has a decent team. Abramovic has complete control over his club, giving it a degree of class that Manchester City can only dream of.
